What a tard, go on ebay its 50 bucks.

There is the clean air act here in America. You need a cat to avoid a ticket.

For reasons of legalities YT can't tolorate nor condone Illegal acts.

IMHO, your fairly new here and perhaps new to a 'family' atmosphere like YT. The only thing I can suggest is to look beyond your own perspective Michalik, and understand the fact that there is more to it (and accountability) than 'someone sticking their nose in your business'. There's so much more at stake and I personally enjoy the hell out of YT and would hate to see the board shut down because of some one listing illegal acts and everyone else going 'YEAH, LET'S DO IT' or 'YT supports illegal acts, therefore shut it down' - the last time something (or someone projected an idea) like that, it just so happened a group of people were supposedly going to catch a ride on Halley's Comet......

Hmm... that explains a lot... they are only 50 bucks.... And whats 50 bucks compared to a 25K fine.

And it is everyones business, this is a family style forum... .and notice the Tread Lightly at the top of the screen... thats how this forum operates... maybe you should go be a NOOB at pirate, I hear they are really warm and welcoming

haha.....you guys are killing me. i'll tell you what... i won 't hold it against you and hang around and offer any help i may have as far fixing, sourcing parts or people that can do work, recommendations or whatever i may be of help with. Oh wait, i'm a noob or whatever so maybe you don't want to listen to me.... oh and its my first 4x4 and first toyota. never mind that i've worked at car shops, bike shops and owned over 20 cars (classic americans and german imports) and over 30 bikes many of which i fixed/restored.

there seems to be a lot of very knowledgable high shool kids here with just awesome ideas and some older guys that just refuse to be openmined or think out of the box. oh ya, i forget.... its illegal. (ya, i get your points about yota tech's responsibility etc but....give me a break). how bout this? any opinions i express are mine and don't reflect yota tech. i'm sure none of you ever had a beer on a public beach or crossed the road not in a crosswalk.

and i'm glad you all are such a tight family over here...that explains the attitude. as if this was the first time i was on a msg board. Ya, i get it... i know at least a dozen local guys in real life off my ducati board and old car board each, and i've meet prolly another dozen new guys from across the country in real life and we became tight. good times.

but honestly, all in all i'm just here to to learn and ask questions and get help and offer whatever i may be able to contribute, however small at this time from stuff based on my limited toyota experience. is that ok? can we just do that and not get all high school about it? i'm a straight shooter willing to offer help if i can, business is business, regardless of your personal feelings about my running a truck w/o a cat. just looking to keep my new truck running. thanks for reading.

Use the search feature, you will see how we feel about people saying its okay not to run cats... I really dont care how many rigs you have owned or worked on, or that your truck still passes emissions... if you post it as okay here that does represent the board, and this board does not tolerate it... We do appreciate any good advise you can contribute. Thats what we are here for, we also don't appreciate advertising things that are not part of the tread lightly program.

High Schoolers ... I am willing to be the demographics of users here are a bit different than you think....

Personally, I feel above the replies Michalik has posted and take a stance to remove myself from any further arguements or discussions.

There's definately a higher sense of education than your willing to give credit towards, and by exhibiting that already shows me your limited willingness or capability to see that!

The final thought I would say is that this board, it's value to me and the fellow members here have a significant meaning - and if someone was to come around and challenge that or jeapordize this 'family's' existence I would fight for all the reasons as stated above.

I am out on this particular thread, sorry Hayes - I would love to see the recommendations of the others as I will be eventually crossing this bridge.

I think I am going to ask to have this thread locked. It has become pointless for the purpose that it was created.

Sorry about the loss of the topic, try to help a NOOB out with how things work at YT and they get all bent out of shape..

There was some good info at the top.. the key points being:

Header, buy a good one. Ceramic coated really helps underhood temps, which leads to longevity.

Cat: get a carsound (magnaflow) cat, they are all hi-flow these days, and a 2.25" universal can be had for about 50 bucks..

Muffler: your choice on sound, I prefer flowmaster, but magnaflow and borla both make good mufflers as well.

Have a local shop put it all together, shouldnt be more than 2 bills, and will tuck up nice and close to the truck so it wont get ripped off.

Thanks for consolidating.

Other than LCE, who makes a header? Looking to keep cost down as much as possible but I want a quality part too.

Downey makes a nice part as well, it comes out at 2.5", but can be easily adapted to 2.25"... There are other like NWOR (worst customer service), pacesetter (fittment issues), but I would stick to downey or LCE... if you want ceramic its about the same for LCE and downey and LCE is stainless.

Doug Thorley all the way! The LC is if you have deep deep pockets, the DT is great for those on a budget.

[QUOTE=Yota Tony;50504202]Go to an exhaust shop and have your work done. Not a place like Midas or Mienike.

QUOTE]

Why not? Have you worked at either place? i have and midas was awesome i guess it depends on the mechs. but our guys did awesome work. Like i said though mienike doesn't listen for crap... I can't wait to tear off my exhaust on a rock
