Switch is not working or making contact...its on the e-brake handle when you push it in. Go look, you'll see it.

MC reservoir has to be within the proper level, not just some in it.

Changed my front brake pads. That's all. Brakes work fine. Fluid within the right range.

Light goes on, off, on, off while driving.

Sounds like the switch is bad like wabbit was saying.

My truck did the same thing after I replaced my MC. My MC was within the full level, and the float was fine. I ended up adding a little more brake fluid and that took care of the problem.

I have run into this problem before, and the sensor in the MC cap had failed.

Try unplugging the sensor and see if the light goes out. If it does, you know that is the problem and you can either leave it unplugged, or replace the sensor. I would suggest replacing the sensor, since it will tell you when you have low brake fluid.

Fluid

The fluid level in mine was between the max/min marks on the reservoir. However, I put some in anyway to almost the max mark. No light so far.

Thanks for input.

Hey man are you sure it isn't just the switch the E-Brake pushes when its completely depressed? If you look at the end of the rod theres a little flat piece that pushes in a button...kind of like safety button's at the floor for the clutch that you have to push in, in order to start the vehicle....check to see that you still have that flat piece that pushes in the button or see if that switch is bad.....look under dash and follow the e-brake rod that rides back and you will see it.....I really can't see the MC have'ing anything to do with his E-Brake light coming on...weird

I'm certain you are not serious.....are you?

What do you think the sensor in the cap/reservoir is for, aesthetics?

Click back up to my post, and reread what I posted. If the sensor in the cap has FAILED, no amount of brake fluid will make the light go out. The sensor tells you when you have low brake fluid by illuminating the BRAKE in the dash. It was also originally intended to alert drivers when they needed brake pads. The pads would wear out far enough to bring the level of fluid down, and turn the light on. This is why lube shops will not top off brake fluid. If you top off the fluid without replacing the pads, it overrides the point of the sensor.
