COMPLETE rebuild on front axle

I have a SAS 4runner and bent the front axle, how hard is it to replace just the housing and transfer my internals to the new housing? I have 4.88's and a detroit locker which I will need to switch no matter what, but removing the 3'rd and redoing the whole axle are two different stories. I have mechanical knowledge, done custom suspension work, engine swaps and so on. The problem is that I have the truck out of town and have only the tools in the back of the truck... a craftsman mechanics set and specialty sockets, torque wrench and what not. What am I looking at here?

Thanks.

Find your new axle and strip it, clean it up and paint it. Tear down the old one and swap. While you are doing this you might try a few upgrades we sell to prevent this from happening again, such as an axle truss and knuckle ball gussets, and service everything with a knuckle service kit.

You also should consider 30 spline Longs.
