Cheap replacement heads on ebay

Has anyone seen one or used one? My truck is needed some love in the head department and I cant have it down for more than a day. I was thinking of getting one of these then working the stock one at my leisure.

I used one of the timing chain cover kits to repair some of the hack work done by the Bakersfield Mensa Group I bought the truck from and that worked out pretty well.

If I needed a head I would buy one from Engine Builder I know there customer service is great if I have any problems.

Not saying Ebay is not great for some things .

+1 for engnbldr. I bought 2 new 22re heads from him. The first stock, then years later a hot version with oversized stainless valves. Like Wyoming said, customer service is second to none. You can call and ask about torques, builds, cam degreeing, the weather in Stockholm, or cow futures and they have you covered.

Im going to go with a engine builder head since I picked up a side job with the foos, I was thinking of the unit with the oversized valves and a better cam to take better advantage of the LCE header. Im going to do the EGR valve at the same time.

I noticed he has a couple choices in cams, I do 99% street and 1% off road on job sites, I plan on getting new tires soon and they will be in the 30"-33" range for my 2 wheeler.

Anyone else do this swap and notice a little/big difference? Im fighting the urge to do a engine swap since that is where I usually jump right into.

Im going to call him later this week to see if he has one in stock ready to go.

I did this years ago (22re '86 4Runner) with over sized valves and RV cam; fresh block with over sized pistons. All EB parts.
I also had a LCE ceramic header. I was happy, it ran nice above 2000rpm, HP gains were there but minimal. If I were to do it again; and I have, I would keep everything stock (maybe oversize valves) or do a 3rz motor swap. Keeping it Toyota smooth and reliable.

Keep in mind that a more aggressive cam will not have smooth idle at 650 rpm. You should ask Ted about about your cam choice next time you call.

Good Luck

This has been put on hold. My side job went away when Dave broke his leg in Sweden.
