camshaft and snorkel

im interested in getting a cam for my 22r. need to pump more juice out of that thing. looking for something reliable but will notice the power change. well, maybe not too reliable but i want to notice some extra power. anybody got any good ideas, brands, or how big of one i should get? i was talkin with my buddy yesterday and he says a full cam will make my truck run like crap.

also, going to build a snorkel. anybody got any pics? i need some ideas. im wondering if womens nylon would make a good water/debrie blocker for the opening at the top. also thought of chicken wire. do i need to build a drain in the system somewhere so that water doesnt get into my carburator? my buddy works for a company that plums pools so were going to use pvc pipe and his pvc pipe bender to make all the tubing. i need to figure out a way to keep it from becomeing a parachute and ripping off too. any ideas?

Ask yourself Do you NEED a snorkel? Lotsa deep water around Chino Hills is there?
Consider how the short straight big tube intake pipe is supposed to help get air into the engine better than 2 or 3 feet of factory tubing. Now imagine what 6 feet or more with lots of bends is gonna do.

If you do build a snorkel, you still need an air filter. If it's in an airbox, that will be your water trap. If you make the upper tube and inlet look like a shapely leg and foot, then the stocking idea will look great...

yes, do you really need a snorkel? if so, do an advanced search for snorkel for brucets and 4hummer for home built versions

Snorkel..... Build your own. Heres a link to mine, http://www.mudrunner.ca/snorkel.html

Its be changed a bit since this picture, The head is mounted straight now and look real good.

Only thing Id change is build it from drainage pipe not plumbing PVC. Drainage has larger ID that Plumbing

Id never go back now that I have it.

its not deep water more than it is deep mud holes. the way it is now when i charging through them muddy water geting into my carburator and stall the engine for a while. when i take the stock tubing off i can see all the dried up gunk in there. i need to place the intake somewhere else and i thought a snorkel would be rad.
