Bucket seats
Who has installed bucket seats in an 80’s truck? What seats did you use, ex cab, brackets?
I have Honda prelude seats in mine, but they kill the room in the cab. Very comfortable, just don’t leave much room for adjustment. I have a pair of CRX seats I’d rather use, just dont have the tracks for them.

I know it’s a stretch, but I would happily trade my prelude seats for some 2nd gen CRX seats, Hell I would trade them for just the seat tracks.
My seats will readily fit an 84-88 p/u with the only need being drilling a few mounting holes. They use 2 factory holes per seat.

Interesting info about the Prelude seats. I have been researching the seats for my 86 pickup. I don't really want to start drilling holes in the floor boards unless I don't have another good option. From what I have found, the 93-95 Civic seat rails are a close fit to the 84-88 Toyota pickup. Others have installed the 96-00 Civic seats with some modifications. Other Honda seats like the Del Sol seats will bolt up to the rails. Beware, I can't state any of this from personal experience, all of this could be incorrect. I am mentioning this because the Del Sol seats seem to be a good candidate for a roomy and comfortable seat. https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...r-civic-72047/

When mounting seats not originally designed for the vehicle keep in mind that there are reinforcements designed into the original mounting points (usually threaded holes). They keep the relatively thin floor metal from failure during a wreck. Of course you don't need to be wary of this if you like being a ping pong ball inside a tumbling vehicle.

This thread is a little old now, but I figured I'd post what I did in case anyone comes through looking for ideas. I took the bottom half of the sliders out of some beat stock buckets and mounted those to a large plate. Then I took Mazda circa '01 MPV minivan seats including sliders (any seats that mount on a flat surface and have sliders should work) and mounted those to the other side of the plate, and mounted the assembly using stock holes and stock hardware. I'm 6' and ended up with fine head clearance. Not much room under the seats; hard to fish my phone out of there when I drop it. It was probably 15 years ago that I added those seats, and they're still going, although the drivers side could use a freshen up. I also had to slot the plate to clear the MPV slider mechanism.
