flowmaster keep the cat and as much exhaust pipe as you can its really not that loud but its the only thing that makes it sound like a truck and not a rice rocket

Im going to have to disagree with everyone that suggests a flowmaster. Ive had a flowmaster on my truck and it sounded like pure crap. Borla and Magnaflow mufflers have a much cleaner desireable sound. I have a borla on my 3.0. and its probably the most throaty exhaust i've heard. This is what it sounds like

I'm sure. but I've heard a flowmaster and magnaflow on 22re. Gonna have to suggest going with a magnaflow rather than a flowmaster. much richer and cleaner tone.

flowmasters on any R series sound like a tractor...to me anyway. I'd say run a header, 2.25 in pipe, and a magnaflow. No cat, and as few bends as possible.

I agree with MaK92-4RnR as well.. I've heard more good things about magnaflow than flowmaster.

i agree with gnarls, this is very opinionated, everyone is going to give there personal prefrence, for example, i loved my stock muffler, i'd actually rather have it back then my performance muffler.

you do not know what you're talking about if you think my truck sounds like a Honda.

flowmasters have chambers in it that restrict the flow and create a so-called "throaty" sound. I can almost guarantee that my truck has a "throatier" result with a borla turbo style muffler than your 3rz with a "dumped" exhaust. not to mention, I also have a tail pipe. I've ran the "dumped" exhaust and it sounds like a bumble bee when you let off the gas. I cant imagine what it sounds like on a 3rz. I've heard it on a 5vz-fe, 22re, 22r and 3vze. and nothing has matched what my set up is.

pretty sure no one in this section cares about 3VZE's.

heres some nice sounding 22R and 22RE setup's, IMO the best your going to get on an R series is the Flowmaster.

Flowmaster 50

Flowmaster 40

Dynomax Turbo sounds way to Raspy.
