any recommendation's for a rear disc swap

I'm looking for some info bout how to go about doing a disc swap for a daily driver(what kinda parts i should use ,how I should do the ebrake, if I should do it at all, ect)
Only reason I'm considering the rear disc swap is I think I might come out cheaper or just slightly more then rebuilding my drum brakes. Either way it'll be a while before I get to working on the brakes

My current rear brakes are shot in the A there locked up the lspv is rusted thru and most of the brake parts on the axle are missing messed up , once I get it somewhat restored I plan to dailyish drive it

I can`t see how it will be cheaper.

You can weld and do the Fab work to hang the caliper brackets.

Then maybe you plan to just swap in a Disc Brake 4Runner complete rear axle put spring pads on install under your Truck.

This would also solve the E-brake question.

Now I have not measured the new axles not sure if this is workable endeavor .

In any case lots of fab work no doubt someone markets a kit

Another option is the transfer case brake

I have seen lots of threads do some research figure out what will work best for you

i have a trail gear rear disc conversion for over three and a half years with no complaints so far.
skye off road also makes a kit that uses a different GM caliper from a caddy i think, with a cable e-brake, something about it made it difficult iirc. other than having to source calipers yourself.
all pro makes a transfer case mounted e-brake that i am going with when i get around to it.
i also have a willwood proportioning valve to install, again when i get around to it.
you can also upgrade to v6 front calipers and roters. oops never mind the solid axle is harder to upgrade the front calipers i think. just looked back to see what rig you have.
don't forget to upgrade to a 1" bore master cylinder too when you go rear disc's.

V6 calipers/FJ60 rotors/1" bore master/ dual diaghram booster are all bolt on for a solid axle. You will also need minimal 1.25" spacers on the front, to clear the calipers. I opted for the 1.5" spacers since I have the 3" wider (than stock front solid axle) rear diff from an IFS Runner.

What do yall think of the low range off road economy rear disc kit (made by trail tough ) with a tcase brake or line locks That way its all 100% yota? Would that setup work for a street truck or is it off road only? Cause I kinda like the idea of having 4 matching calipers and 4 matching rotors and 8 matching pads
http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index...onomy-kit.html I know my parts guy has a good lspv and the 1 inch master idk bout a dual diaphragm booster tho

But Wyo, he ^^ started it... I know we were talking about rear upgrades, but Dono said "the front calipers", so I was clarifying for that portion.

I'm going to go work on my Toy so Wyo can't pick on me anymore....
