I just sold off a dirt bike and im looking to rebuild my front axle. complete. Allpro has the sale. but i have heard great things about both. i need the knuckle drag tool also. which company has the better value?

 

If you were to go with Trailgear a guy on here Tofer is a vender. Would save on shipping and maybe a discount to fellow YTer, but you'd need to talk to him.

 

i'm partial to marlincrawler i've used theyre products and couldn't be more pleased. never any front axle parts though... marlin has a new type of seals just introduced. they are supposed to be unsurpassed

Maybe instead of listening to some one else's hear say why not ask Wabfab he's installed tons and is also a vender.

i got a TG rebuild kit when i bought my sas kit from them.. pretty disapointed with the quality of the bearings. gaskets and seals.. but i already had a extra new set of of timken wheel bearings and seals from my previous truck so i just used them instead.. next time i need to do a rebuild im either going with the marlin kit or get the stuff from toyota.

 

x2. Do yourself a favor and go with Marlin. Everything is OEM or better and those seals are a big upgrade over OEM.

 

All-Pro and Marlin sell the same kit.

You won't get the half moon felt protectors or the full circle brass backing, but the rest is there and its a quality kit.

If you go with Marlin, then also get Marlin's axle seals while your at it.

 

Being in the 84-85 section, and his name being Ron's 85, pretty sure its solid axle

You may want to buy these upgraded knuckle studs (I did):

I think I only bought 8 of the studs along with new nuts and washers. I only did the top. I think you would need 16 if you wanted to do top and bottom.

Thanks for your help, i ordered the seals the rebuild w/ wheel bearings and the stud kit, all 16. So far the teardown has been scary. the knuckle was pretty dry.

I think will I am down here ill do the high steer kit!

It is never ending isn't it.

 

Can't do that without 3" of lift or so, high steer kit and an IFS box and mount kit.

 

i've got the lift. I need the money!!!! im looking for the box and can probably make the bracket, I have about $250 to spend on the kit and im pretty handy.
