Reason for swap: Tired 22R, Noisy tranny, bad clutch, burning/leaking oil etc Got donor vehicle in good shape for 650 bucks. (main reason to keep the 22RE)


More than a write up, this is a questions from all off you that have done this swap. I want to know the "Do's and Don't " of this swap. I am really concerned with the Harness / Electrical/ fuel issues that I will have to deal with. I have a complete donor vehicle, so a lot of parts are already there. My self and my mechanic friend will be doing this. None of us have done this.

 

so you are going from carb to efi?

i know fuel tank, fuel lines, engine wiring harness, for sure have to be swapped... basically everything under the '92 hood is going to have to go over.

not sure about what it'll take to plug into the dash.

 

im doing a similiar swap. how did you go about wiring everything together under the dash. i have both 22r and re computer and wiring harness just need to know how to plug the new into the old.
