A304H Tranny Questions

I have a A304H in my 85 toyota pickup that has been actting up for a while now. I bought another A304H to replace it. The one in my truck doesnt have a transfer case cooler but the one I bought was does but I dont want to replace the hose that go to it so I'm just going to take it off. If I plug the holes up with like a drain plug. Is that alright to do or is their a pump inside that could burn up.

Need to add the cooler. Tans is very high priced to rebuild. Don't want to take a chance on it. The transfer case in the a340h is like a second tansmission. Very inportant to keep it cool. Fixing to have mine rebuilt. Quote from shop starting at $1100.00. They say you have to take apart transfer case to build transmission. So they build both.

Duude, you just replied to a 3 year old thread, bet he firgured it out by now.
On your issue though don't do it. Go buy a Tacoma auto ger a gear drive adapter add a gear drive case and you are updated. I bet for the same price and you'll have a better setup that can be easily modified like adding dual cases.
Only issue may be the VSS for the TCM, but you really don't need that silly auto shift option for wheelin"
