85 pickup(G.I junk), 22re electrical problems HELP!

got some youtube videos attached. was in the process of getting the junk to run good, finally was ready to pull it out of the garage when this happened. I had started it a handfull of times today but when i went to start it this time i heard a pop, and when i turned the key i got the click but no start.

after that i turned the key back on to the on position, that stupid buzzer sounds really high pitched and shaky, along with everything else. all the electronics are running really "shaky". at this point, its not starting, everything powers on, but works very weird (notice the 4-ways in the video). heres the part that stumped me. instead of the truck starting when i turn the key, the wipers come on (notice that in the video).

my battery isnt all that good, so i had the truck on a 2amp. slow charge during the video, i had checked the battery 5mins before and it was running around 11.80 volts, so i plugged it in. seemed like the truck wasnt gettin any juice as the starter was turning over real slow, so i bumped it up to 200amp engine start halfway through the video, and still, starter turns over real slow.

this is the part that i dont get, notice the last minitue or so of the video. the truck just dies, its doing absaloutly nothing, almost as if theres no battery in it at all.

checked the majority of the fuses, ground to the block and frame is good, battery and terminals arend corroded. where do i look now?

thanks!!

looks like a ground issue of some sort. check the resistance of the battery cables. sometimes they corrode inside and build up resistance. also check your starter relay.

what is that god awful grinding/knocking sound in the background?

Oh and check that little positive wire (fusible link) off the battery cable (it's not completely gone as you still do have power but.....) as well as all of your grounds, mainly the main one. And get a full charge on that battery to eliminate that as well.

lol that truck is a walking zombie and should have been dead years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it did bring something back with it.

how do i come about checking resitance of my battery cables? will check starter relay. would the start relay cause all of these problems? and the starter still cranks btw, just very slow.

i think the noise is a combination of the door buzzer ( it was messed up and sounded awfly annoying) and rain. angus was in the garage since she has no doors, so i just pulled the nose in and then it wouldnt start, so i couldnt pull it all the way in next to angus.

battery is on charge, 2amp trickle charge (blew up my last battery by jumping it and then driving off the battery since my alt was bad, did that for about a month and it just died)

will check fusible link, and double check the grounds on the block and frame.

oh, anyway. update. truck isnt completly dead anymore, it somehow came back to life. everything is the same as it was. my "stop" fuse was blown in the kickpanel, but after i replaced it i didnt notice any difference.

starter turns over, very slow, and lights go dim as its cranking, yet the battery has around 12volts. ive started cars on batteries as low 9ish so i dont think its the battery, though im sure its not helping.

im leaning toward this being a ground problem, i will check and double check every ground i know of tonight and report back.

also, it was fine erlier, it started to downpour (the worst i've ever seen) and soon after that it quit. coincidence? or did something get wet?

its been out in the rain plenty of times, but we were on tornado watch and we got pummeling rain and 50mph winds. the worst im sure new jersey has seen in years!!

update:

had the battery charging, in the meantime i de-greased and wire brushed the ground on the engine, took the ground off the fenderwell, sanded to bare metal, wire brushed it, then cleaned off the battery terminals with one of those battery terminal cleaners.

by then, the battery was charged, hooked everything back up, went in lights came on good, buzzer sounded normal, 4-ways worked great etc. turned the key and got click but no start, the starter wasnt engaging.

then i remebered the previous owner (for the life of god i have no idea why) wired in 2 more starter plugs, that all just chill by the starter. so i unplugged the one that was in there, went to the next one.

lights acted all weird again, very dim though the battery was full, then when i turned it all the way starter turned over real slow, then everything died, dash lights turned off etc.

went to plug #3, plugged it in, and everything went off without a hitch. worked beutifully!!
