85 issue, need help!!!
Sorry its so long... But this problem started a few months ago and i would be driving along and it would feel like it bogged down a lil. Never spuddered really, just felt like it was gettin all the fuel it needed or something. After about 3 weeks or so of lettin it do that, cause it wouldnt do it constanly only in 1st gear and then pulling a hill. It started gettin worse. It started spudderin and spittin and i would hold it to the floor, when it would get to about 2.5k rpm or so all the power came on at once. It was like whatever was holding it back blew out, but then if u let it idle down a little and got back into the throttle it did the same spuddering agina. So i checked all the vacum lines, they were fine, and changed the fuel filter. Ran great for about a day or so and then it went right back to doin the same thing. So i gave up and took it to a mech. First thing he said it was was someone put the wrong fuel cap on it. Said it wasnt letting it vent or was venting to much, idk, he put a different one on it and it ran great for about 3 days, and then right back to the same ˟˟˟˟. Then he adjusted the tps new wires, clamp was missing on the MAF, he cleaned it also. Ran good for him during a test drive, then when i came and got it it did the same crap again! Pretty sure im missing another trip to the mechanic. But i got another engine in the trade for this truck. He wanted the injectors off of it, so he changed the whole fuel rail. Today picked it up and it ran great for about 30 min and now its back doin the same ˟˟˟˟ AGAIN! But then it would barely idle! I have been just letting it sit till i could figure out the issue or had the money to fix it, and its been sitting for about 3 weeks. Went and started it today and it ran great for about 20min, i let idle for about another 10min and the idle started to get rough again like it would do when it spuddered before. Here is a video i took of it idling after the last trip to the mechanic. I need extreme help here guys...I am sorry this is so long btw

oh yea guess i forgot the main info lol, its a 22re, and no it wasnt my fuel pump, they checked that. They hooked a fuel gauge up to check it, but i think when they checked it was when it was actually acting right...but none the less he told me it wasnt the pump, and i can hear the pump running when i take off the fuel cap

Have you checked your engine coolant temp sensor? Could cause that. Cold start injector sticking maybe? EGR valve crudded up? It could be a bunch of different things really.

no i havent checked the coolant sensor, can i unhook the cold start injector to see if that fixes it? How do i check or clean the egr valve, and yea ive been trying to search but the only thing i have found so far was pointing towards O2 sensor, it has quite a few exhaust leaks and one thing i read said that could effect the O2 sensor?

if you don't have a multimeter or know how to use one, and start testing things with the aid of the technical manual (1985 FSM that was linked on a previous post) we are not going to be much help.
You are simply asking if it could be this or that, without actually checking anything.
You just gotta test all your sensors for the right readings, testing what the troubleshooting flow charts recommend. come back here with your results if you are stumped after having ruled out a bunch of stuff.....
If you aren't up for this, your best bet is to call around, find a mechanic with a lot of 22RE experience, and send it to him.

I never said I dont know how to use a multimeter, only said i didnt have one. I have planned on testing these things when i get around to buying a meter. And yes you are right i am asking if it could be this or be that. Where else would I start if I didnt have help from the people on here telling me what it could be. Thought thats what forums were for??? Excuse me for asking questions on tech question section on a forum. I am simply trying to find out what it could possibly be, if no one can tell me anything then how would i know what to look for?
