I have a 85 toyota pickup and it has the auto tranny in it and on the highway it shifts into OD and aslo shifts out but when I push the button to take it out to get up hills better it dosent do anything. What is the problem with this. Also the light doesnt come on that tells me that OD is off.

 

My light doesn't work either, but my OD button works. I push it and it pulls me down a gear.

Any chance you are already down a gear and it only prevents the upshift? Take a look at the wiring for the button too, might now be making a connection somewhere.

 

I will its in OD because when i'm doing 70 MPH on the highway. What abouy the wire at the bottom?
