85 4Runner t-case gears
Hey all.. I'm new here but have been wheeling for a long time. I've been searching for the info I need off and on all day but I'm not having much luck. I just bought a 1985 4Runner and I need some help finding parts and mods I want. I asume you guys will know the best places to buy what I need. First off, my new to me rig has the original 22RE with an Auto tranny. It's been lifted and runs on 33's but I have no idea what type of lift. Both difs are open and the drivetrain appears to be stock.
Here's a list of what I need first...
1. T-case crawler gears?
2. Locker?
3. Seat swap options?
Many more mods to come but this is where I want to start. Thanks.

I pick up my new rig next week. I need to find out how many spline's I have. I've done similar kits on Suzuki Samurai t-case.
Here's my new rig. I pick it up next week, I can't wait to get started.

Looks nice and a good start!
Your biggest issue is going to be that auto tranny as far as the crawler gears go as the tranny and t-case on the auto are one merged unit, unlike the 5 speeds.
Let me know if you have any questions...just email/PM me.

Does that mean I can't use the crawler gears? I assumed it would still work.. I've honestly never worked on an automatic.

Inchcrawler? has an adapter that you can use to double your transfer cases.
Interesting that '85 runners with auto tranny's are not as rare as I thought.

I'm going to see how it wheels first. I'm told I may prefer the AT off road. I saw the Inchcrawler set up but I'm not too sure about tearing open my AT.
