I have a 22re in my 85 pickup and if i seat their and rev to about 3500 it will start missing and it blows a little black smoke and blue smoke at start up what could the problem be. It dosent miss if i'm just driving it and at idle it dosent do it.

 

Blue smoke at startup is usally oil buring that somehow got into the cylinders (valve stem seals most likly). The mis could be alot of things ranging from ignition to fuel injectors or even a sensor problem.

 

How hard is it to do valve steam seals?

if the heads off.

 

Than its no easy if you gt to take your head off. HAHA O well
