1985 pu heater core replacement
So I read some threads on here and cannot decide if the dash needs to come all the way out or not? How big of a project is this? I am aware that its not a hour project but the book says 10 hours? Wow sounds like quite a deal. Any help would be nice thanks folks.

It is a big job. You will have the dash completely out. Here is a link to get the pad off.>>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51778558
Here is another link to help get some of the dash out. Not the best video but it will show some of what you are getting into. >>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51966101

When I did mine, as was stated, the dash must be removed. It took me about 6 hours, give or take an hour.
However, if you have air conditioning, the evaporator does not need to be removed. You can unscrew it from the heater core housing and firewall and pull it outward as far as you can to gain enough clearance to remove the heater core housing.
