its possible maybe not easy but it can be done
From bigmike over on marlin crawler. i believe he has done this swap 3? times, and help many other people with theirs

"But I want to scare you first. It will cost you roughly $1500 to complete the swap, if not more. Figure about $800 - $1200 for an engine complete with all wiring harnesses and ecu, and an extra $300 - $500 or so for the misc things you will need during the conversion."

And the swap would be a lot of work but i think it is completely worth it for the benefits. you have almost everything you need in a donor rig with the 3rz, minus the t100 2wd oil pan (maybe only for ifs???)

Yeah this was still an option but I can't find one for under 1700 and that's without a wiring harness

as far as the 3rz swap i would just keep an eye out for a wrecked tacoma or t100 with that engine. that would be ideal, and as far as the blow through carb and propane im no help there sorry!!!

there is a wrecked 4runner in spokane for 500 not sure on the engine as it was not posted, and i "think" the 4runner swap is not as easy???

Yeah I'd be lucky to find one. Least amount of down time is probably my 20r hybrid swap but curious if I need head studs or if I have to get bigger valves

What do you want the power for?

Drag racing? Higher top speed? To handle larger tires?

A lot of times people just want to handle larger tires and wheel better -- more torque than power.

If you don't care much about top speed, you can get everything you want with lower gears. Throw in some lockers and you will still be cheaper than all the engine ideas I see floating around. And with lower gears and locking (ARB my favorite, although Detroit locker in the rear and posi in front is not bad) you will be unstoppable off road.

I use 5.11 gears with lockers and 33" tires. Not much will stop it ... but 75 is about maximum cruising speed and it ain't too quiet!

you can do it for cheap, you need access to some good junk yards for parts.
First you need a manafold, make one, cut yours up, or fint a RET one.
Find a junk yard turbo, there are tons of them.
You need to make of find a hat for the carb, plus all the piping .
check it
