Stock height front leafs

Hey everyone,

Ive been scouring the internet for awhile now trying to determine a cost effective solution for my suspension setup.
My front leaf springs are at the end of there life, the rears are still decent, minus the bushings. Im not really looking to lift the truck as i like the stock height and want to keep it original. So basically im looking to replace the front springs and hardware, rear bushings and u bolts, than shocks all around,

i was considering old man emu leaf packs all around, but its a little over my budget, and like i said id prefer not to to a lift. So other than lce’s stock leafs, or the ones lowrange offroad sells, does anyone know a reputable dealer for stock height springs in the front. I should note i live in the yukon, so shipping over the boarder or in general can be horrendous. Hence why i havnt pulled the trigger on the lce/lowrange ones.

Would my current springs be worth getting re arched?

thanks guys.

Keep in mind, the front leafs never had much, if any arc to begin with...

I'd also like to know the answer to your question. I've read here that the front springs on pre-85 are different arch left to right side...Which side has the higher arch? I plan to experiment with an old leaf pack to raise the front of my 85 4runner but don't want to go over 2" lift.

Fairly certain they are the original leaf packs.

That is the way they look. I've seen photos of brand new trucks from back in the 80s, and they never had positive arch. I think they were more or less flat from the factory. Doesn't mean it isn't time for new springs, but that negative arch is pretty typical. I'm not sure you can positive arch and not get a lift.

My 80 is the same way, The problem is that it hits the bump stops all the time and makes for a harsh ride. I am going to watch this thread and see what comes of it.

you would obviously need to call and confirm availability but, a very quick part search on toyotapartsdeal shows oem front spring assemblies available for 338 bucks.. if you are determined to keep it stock theres nothing better than oem. have you asked Toyota yet?

I havnt called toyota no, just assumed they would no longer be available. Could be a phone call away.
Just installed new OME shocks, and wow what a difference. Im thinking ill leave my leafs for now, the rears are definitely fine. The fronts seem ok but i was basing all this on there appearance. Although the bushings could definitely use a replacement.

all the bushings and sprint bolts are still available oem. The front hanger bolts come as an assembly with bushings and the little 10mm bolts all in one nice little bag.

Called my local dealer today, they said no longer available. Yet, there are other dealers who seem to have some...? Currently looking at Lakeland Toyota. I have found a company, General Spring, but not sure of their quality, ride, or anything.

General Spring is of the few aftermarket companies offering stock height springs. Just google them. You'll find threads on Toyota forums about them. The reviews are mixed, but generally good. They aren't OEM, and they aren't fancy boutique custom springs. They're just generally decent aftermarket stock replacements.

I bought my leaf springs from them for the rears of my 98. I went with the HD option. They definitely gave me some lift, which has slowly settled to maybe 1". Hard to tell because I also have airbags. I've had them on for only about a year, so I can't say much except that they work, and they're a huge improvement over the completely spent OEM springs they replaced.
