I have not posted here in a while. I have my 1980 Toyota pickup 2wd swb. I want to put on headers but i am unsure where to start. Has anyone here put them on a 2wd 1st gen before? I am getting a 20/22r hybrid ($2300) put in soon and want to redo the exhaust again. I already burned out two mufflers because of excessively rich fuel mixture and need to also rejet the carb for high altitude. When I bought a header, it would not fit because of the torsion bars being in the spot there are in. So, I need a header specifically made for 2wd that will be compatible with a 1st gen.

Have you called...er.um..yuk...Pacesetter?

Summit racing?

Something as critical as header fitment....as you have painfully learned...is best answered by the maker.

 

LCE and Pacesetter do not have available any header for the 2wd.

Summit Racing on the other hand does, thanks!

 

No problem man. I actually have a grill...a valance..couple other 2wd parts in the garage from an 81. Cheep of course. Also the tailgate latches...ones where there are one on eithside..with th chains too. Headlightbuckets and trim rings too.
