Sock gone?

I finally got the tank dropped and this is on the end of the fuel line in the tank. I was looking for a sock.

So..is the sock just gone? Or did it just never have one? That basket thing has a sort of screen on the bottom. That has a bunch of dried stuff on it.
Gmack said he'd never seen one. I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else had.

Doesn't look like it had a sock from this pic from here P/N 77023-12050 as a separate P/N, but probably just has the screen in that filter sub-assembly suction tube.

Dood, that's perfect. That was one of the sections my dog ate from my Chiltons. I'll have to keep this link.
Preciate it.
What's the best way to clean that? I'm cleaning the tank with Locktite cleaner. Let it soak in that?
Thanks again.

Here is what it used to look like.

Copied...
Part number for a new intank filter is #77023-12050. On ebay it is called a TOYOTA FACTORY NIB FUEL FILTER SUCTION TUBE DIESEL. It was selling for $4.50 when I finally found it. I paid $15 at Toyota.

I use white vinegar and it works great for me. My 88 Runner thread has some info as well on it on the first page. Here is some more info.>>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f197...l#post51818622

I think I'm just gonna call the Yota dealership tomorrow and see how much a new tank would cost. I have no idea, but I ain't gettin rid of the truck. So, it's probably time.
I don't think I'm every going to get all of that raisin bran out. And, it'd be one less thing to have to worry about leaking in the long run.

Not saying you can't, but....................It also depends on the parts guy at your dealership, some will look harder than others...

Check with a radiator shop, some can coat the inside of the tank...
