smother ride

Im looking to get a better more comfortable ride while on a budget

I have a 1983 Toyota 4x4 has crappy skyjacker suspension and is way to tall for my likings (7" total). I would like to get about 3-4"(max) amount of lift to clear 33s (w/o trimming/body lift) but still ride good, I was thinking about doing rears up front and 63" chevies out back. but its hard to find Yota parts around where I am so, I was looking into trail-gear 3" springs with a small shackle lift. has any body used these spring on a 1st gen DD? how do they ride and how does it sit (pics would be appreciated) I am for sure gonna do 63" chevies out back cuz of the so called "Cadillac ride"!

One option is to get the truck weighed, front and rear axle weights, and then call up the folks at Alcan and have them build you up a set of springs for the exact load capacity and ride height you want:

Roger's suggestion above is my suggestion exactly. Rather than some scattershot guess about what you think might work, Alcan is no more than one tank of gas from wherever you are in Colorado, and they will make you exactly what you want and need.

I have tried alcan but they want $400 for springs to my spec so that is why I was thinking just go with the trail-gear springs for $199

Yes, the TG springs would be a more affordable option. Realize that they are not designed to bolt up to the stock locations. You'll need to move the rear spring hanger forward, possibly move the rear shackle hanger back, run long spring shackles and up front longer shackles plus modifying the stock steering or convert to crossover steering in order to handle the forward axle location and the spring pack thickness as compared to stock. All the above is possible to do and makes a better setup, but it is not a simple bolt on installation.

I plan on doing highsteer anyways first and my front spring hanger is cracked so that needs replaced so I figured TG 3" front springs would be a good choice for the price but just wanted to know how ppl liked them that ran them
