shock flange replacement... do the make em?

on my 78 toyota pickup/camper, I was changing the shocks.

The shocks came off ok, put new ones on. Then I got the great idea to go around and tighten up the bolts with the impact wrench.

Not such a good idea, as it turns out.....

I ripped the head right off the bolt. Now the rest of the bolt is stuck in the flange.

I tried drilling out the rest of the bolt. Took forever, and only got about 1/4" of the way into the bolt. I think it's cased hardened and super hard to drill through.

Anyway, is there some place I could pick up a threaded flange piece? I was thinking maybe I could just get someone to torch it off, and then weld on a new piece.

Otherwise, I was thinking that maybe I could just chop the head off of a bolt, and have someone weld the rest of the bolt right onto the end of the flange. I just need enough thread of a bolt, to put the shocks back on, and get back on the road!

Bummer of a time to have it happen. Was supposed to be heading out on a xcross country road trip Monday.

But, is there a place anyone knows of that would sell the flange for the shock that I could just weld back on?

Yes its a hardened bolt.

If you could TIG a new smaller bolt onto it you might save it. Is it the upper flange on the frame or the plate on the spring?

If its the plate just get another and swap it out. If its the top frame bolt, TIG might be it, that frame mount is kinda permanent
