alright so i swapped the bad motor mount out with the help of my new floorjack and some scrap wood. it still doesnt sit perfectly strait but im happy enough for now... heres some pics
i was gonna swap both but it was a major pain in the ass and the other one looks fine so im leaving it for now. i sat there for about an hour and a half with 2 drift pins jacking the engine up and settling it, there wasnt much room to crank on the drift pins and it would of been nice to have an extra arm but it finally all came together and it still looks like crap but im still satisfied...

After 30+ years the rubber will be cracked and if one was bad after a roll..the other probably is too.
Granted the d/s mount sees more stress..
It would not be a bad idea to weld a few links of chain on your motor mount.
Common mod to help get you home In case one breaks out in BFE

question for you guys.. can i completely disable the ac this would make it a lot easier to work on the other mount...
one of those hoses goes to the air cleaner the other im not really sure.

Just poked through your thread, I have a 8? that I belive to have a good cab top, and the doors arn't awful. Have you thought about cutting the top off your old truck, and welding a new one on?

One more thing nows the time to clean up the engine !! Degrease and reseal . I would pant the inner fenders and fire wall while I'm at it . I'd paint those before installation it would be so much easier that way . I'm half blind so I'd paint them white but that's just me lol. Btw I'm real jealous of your exhaust system looks nice !!!

You could see if there are any counties around you where you don't have to get smog. I know in Imperial county we only have to do it with a change in the ownership, although it's like 800 miles away. If there is you might be able to get a po box in that county and register the truck there. I know some people from San Diego do that over here. Good job with the swap so far and good luck on the rest.

so yesterday i found an add on craigslist reguarding a honda xr650r that was being parted out. i check every couple of days since my xr650r was stolen a few months back. turns out this one was mine. 24 hours later its back in my garage and the dude is in jail.
