Its been a while, so to keep this going, here's a few updates. I haven't got as much done as I wanted but here it is.
I got the crossmember and driveshafts in.
finished up the accessory brackets except for the belt tensioner.
I got some KilMat to help with the cabin noise and Carpet is on the way. While I'm waiting, I'm going to convert all the dash lights to LED, and fix a few of switches that need replaced.
I'm running into one road block if anyone on here can help with. I'm going back with the factory, externally regulated alternator, and I didn't mark the two spade end wires coming form the same harness as the Alt plug. Anyone know where these go?
I took a couple of days off and got through quite a few of the little things i had lined up. I was hoping to have a First Start Vid for you today but I was short a few clamps and ran out of time. I did get the engine turned over and got it to build oil pressure so far, NO Leaks!
I got around to running the Vac Lines to the breaks and the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid. I reused a solenoid form the EVAP system.
It's wired right(Power to Close) I mounted it up to the firewall, now I just need to find a keyed hot circuit.
Once I figured out I wasn't going to get it started, I threw the seat in to make sure that I could still shift the 4WD lever, I can but it's close, I'd still like to find a pair of old Bucket Seats.
I've got some more parts to add to the For Sale pile, a passenger door, and a Throttle cable, I'll stick it on the classified section.
Success!,
It's been a while but I finally got it running and moving under it's own power.(sorry can't figure out how to upload a video on here)
the evap solenoid I used for a the fuel shutoff works great. Now I need some exhaust and I can do some shakedown runs.
I believe the white spoke wheels are stock, that is exactly the wheels that are on mine.
1980 would have had the solid steel wheels with hubcaps if it were an SR5(that strip package leads me to believe it was). We bought that exact model(in red) in the fall of 1980. White spoke rims might have been a dealer add on.
