Quick question

My wheel bearings came with a small rubber seal that has a spring around it.

I didn't see one of these when I pulled the whole deal apart and am guessing that the PO missed putting it in originally.
That said, I don't know where it would go

Anyone have an idea?

(no it's not beat up in this picture, that's just some grease)

Thanks for your help!

I was wondering about the inside diameter. Its been awile since I tore my axel down but i think i remeber a seal that goes behind the wheelbearings that you wouldnt of had to remove to change your bearings.. But its been awhile so im not possitive

It doesn't fit over the spindle (it might if i force it), and its slightly larger than the diameter of the axleshaft.

It isnt the inner axle seal because they have a metal ring and are much more sturdy than this

it's not for a 79-83 ...

generic bearings sometimes include "other" parts ...

I called the company I bought it off, and they say that it IS an inner axle seal after all.

I was comparing it to my marlin HD inner axle seal and figured that there was NO WAY it was one, but I guess that just goes to show how quality the marlin ones really are

Yeah I finally got around to working on my truck

I went with Big Country Customs out of Abby

They gave me TG rebuild, Marlin HD seals, and Yukon front bearings. No real reason why I didn't go with marlin, and from what I've read the rebuild kits are essentially the same (bearings aside). I asked what bearings they would recommend and they said Yukon, so that's what I went with.

got the pass side all dialed up today and hope to start the drivers on Monday (timing with work and college is a little difficult)
