New to YotaTech

I've been lurking on here the past couple months and decided to join the site. I've read lots of helpful information and knowledge on here its great! Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself and the truck I'm currently rebuilding. It's an '81 SR5, 22R, with a 5-speed and 136,000 original miles. The pic below is right after I pulled it out of the garage it was sitting in for the past 13 years. I'll be posting updated pictures of the truck's progress and hopefully get a few building tips along way!

welcome to YT!... nice truck you got there. Is it just that picture or has that truck been bobbed? Probably just the angle the pic was shot from since the SR5 strips are still there. Anyway good luck with the rebuild.

Thanks! Nope no bob there, its all original (minus the wheels and roll bar, which were put on there a day after the truck was rolled off the showroom floor).

I'll probably start a new buildup thread to show the progress I've made on the truck so far. Plus it'll give me an excuse to take more pictures of it.

That is a really nice truck... With a little work you can have it looking like new. I hope you don't plan on chopping it up and going wild with it.

Definately not going the chopped and over the top route. My plans are to restore it back to original as possible with a few common upgrades and modifications to fit what I need it for which will be driving it around town, up to the deer lease, around the deer lease, and back home.

I'm going to try to get on the forum tonight and start a new buildup thread with a lot more pictures and details.

Well technically the odometer says 3599 9/10 (so I rounded up to 3600). The reason I know its 136,000 mile because my uncle who gave me the truck drove it off the showroom floor in late '80 and parked it in '97 because it was burning oil. Heck, I remember helping him push the truck into my grandmother's garage when I was in high school. And it sat in her garage until I pulled it out of there a few months ago.
