need some axle help

well that high horse power 22r finely got me.

anyways on to my ? when i pulled the axle out this is what i seen.

you see the ring loose in the center? the axle busted it loose and bent the hole thru the center of it some. what was it there for and is it needed? i'm thinking about swaping axles for now but i need to get this one back up and ready to go. any ideas

looks like the the inner axle seal-helps to keep the knuckle grease from looking milky and still looking like grease. keeps the diff gear oil where it needs to be.

nice job on the birf

its not the seal. it did rip it out too but the ring i'm talking about is an all steel ring that was in the axle tube(in past the axle seal) i think it was to halp aline it when to put it in but not sure.

3rd member needs to be removed .. and then you can re-install it if you wish .. it keeps the oil in the "pumpkin" and not in the tubes .. I think there a good idea , so I would re install it
