Motor seizing
Hello all, so i just replaced the head on my 81 22r i put a 92 22re head on it(same intake and exhaust manifold, same size and everything) got it pressure tested resurfaced and its not warped, after putting it back together i went tostart it, it spun about 180 to 360 degrees, then seized. I spun the crank and it will go 360 one way, then wont budge, then 360 the opposite way, then wont budge, i tried bump starting it (about 10mph) and the rear wheels locked up,i cant get the crank to spin!!! idk where to start, or why it wud be seizing, the pistons are fine, the camshaft and rocker assembly appear to be fine, idk what to do next. It sat in my driveway for ruffly a month with no oil or coolant, so the parts arnt lubricated but its REALLY seized. any advice would be helpful, thank you very much.
i searched the site and cudnt find any useful help either.

sounds like he had it turned to where all the pistons were half way down or something like that. youd think with all the mods he has he would know better, hopefully he doesnt try pushing it off again at higher speeds before he gets on the see this, i would hate to know what the weak link would be... if it happens itll be gnarly and there better be pics! lol

note to self always turn engine by hand before turning key to one, and put together an engine always at tdc. Not sure if it's even possible to turn the crank and have all pistons below the deck of the block. If he did, how did he get the cam to line up with the crank?

i dont see why you couldnt as long as nothing is at TDC. 1 and 4 are up at the same time and 2 and 3 are up at the opposite. put it half way and i think it would go on, but idk how he lined up cams and stuff... maybe he just had a REALLY thick HG so it looked like it was down but it was just on the pistons. an once he turned the crank the pistons cant get back up that high? idk. if its a joke its up there with the welded R&P on pirate lol

It can't be a real post
The 81 Carb intake won't bolt to the 92 head, so its physically impossible. Not to mention the 92 head has two center exhaust bolts, where the 81 has one centered one. It would be physically impossible to bolt the 81 manifold to it without modifying it.

it wasnt a joke, the intake is the same it bolted up fine the exhaust is just different, i took the head back off and checked it out, the number 1 and number 4 wernt at TDC , when i tried to bump it the pistons cracked the valves on the head messed them up big time i finally realized that the head is apparently the wrong size, duh, the head is garbage but the pistons are still ok, now i just gota find the right head. verry very stupid of me to do that,
idk what i was thinking, thanks to everyone for all the help lol even tho it was to late, does anybody know where I can get a 81 head???

A head from 81-83 will work for you. Not sure if 84 will work but for sure an 81-83 will. Sorry to hear about this. I've got one at home but that motor threw a rod due to a poor rebuild done by a previous owner. He didn't put the proper bearings in it so who knows what else he did. Also I'm in Ontario and not sure where you live so it'd be cheaper to get one from your area. I'm sure there are lots of old motors lying around.
