So my truck recently started leaking and I found that this hose has been rubbing on the canister underneath it. It now has a small hole worn into it and has started to slowly leak. After some google searches I've found that this hose is not an easy part to find (unless I just don't know how to search correctly )
Attached is a picture of the hose I'm looking for. Any suggestions on patching or where to find a replacement?
Please let me know.
Check your local phone book (google) for a hydraulic shop that makes hoses and they can replace the hose section and crimp new ferrules onto the original ends or may have new ends in stock and make you a completely new hose assembly.
While you have the system apart, you may as well find out how much it would cost to rebuild the other hose(s).
Anytime you have the system open for repair, it's good practice to replace the receiver dryer, expansion device, and pull 29mm/hg of vacuum for about half an hour to remove moisture from the system before recharging.

This ^^^because even though Toyota A/C units at the time were probably one of the longest lasting & maintenance free systems, if air ever entered the closed system, there was a chemical reaction with the freon oil & aluminum compressors causing them to be problematic afterward…so l was told 40 years ago. 👨🏻🦳

Thanks for the advice. A friend of mine suggested this as well and I was able to find a local shop who can make a new hose assembly. However, I got to thinking and considering the ac system is 40 years old, I'm now thinking about pulling the trigger on a whole new system. I found this A/C Auto Solutions. Any experience with these guys or is there another shop you would recommend that offers a complete kit?
