what puller

Did anyone answer which puller to use? So a l42 input shaft will work on a l52?

There are some decent videos on youtube for ford top loader 5speeds. the mechanics are the same from what I can tell.
I ended up modifying a generic puller by grinding down the shafts to make them thinner so they would fit inside the case and grab the bearing by the back, it worked!

My L45 input shaft fits in my L52, I got a bigger bearing for it and had it pressed on. Not sure about the L42 input shaft, only if it is the same as L45.

How hard of a job is this for your average mechanic? I'm debating on tearing into my L52.

Thanks?

Sorry

Sorry I haven't been on here in years. As I remember it wasn't too complicated. But it was more of trying to figure out a puzzle than anything. Just pulling everything apart and laying it in a way that I can put it back in exactly the same. I sold one of my project Toyotas and gave them all the extra parts I had for this transmission about 2 years ago.
