How much rust is too much?
#1
I was looking at my cab and was wondering if it's too badly rusted to get fixed. Anybody got one cheap?
So, scrap the cab and find another? Suck it up and fix this one? Or find a less rusted cab and use parts from it?

Kick panel/Firewall:

Inner fenders:

Would it be wise to drill out the spot welds, fix each panel, then spot weld the whole thing back together? Leaving the main structure intact so as not to do anymore damage.

See that crease on the inner fender (last picture) in front of the U shaped cutout? I was pulling on the radiator support to remove the cab from the frame and I tweaked the inner fender a little.
The driver side cab mount was partiallly attached and when I pulled up on the driver side of the radiator support, I bent it a little. That's fixable right?
I'm buying a small sandblaster next week to help with the rust removal.
Or should I just move to Arizona?

Thanks for all the replys.
I'm going to put my resources into finding a frame and building a rolling chassis first. A cab is no good if you do not have something to bolt it to.
If I stumble upon other parts I need I'll pick them up.

Like the crews been saying, it's fixable, but with a lot of time and effort. I'd be looking for something less rusty. Looking back at the amount of time/work i put into patching/fixing my 83, I should have just looked for something less rusty. Good luck.
