CMAN1's New Shoes

CMAN1... fantastic! Love the look! And as I mentioned before I know the feeling going from MT's to AT's. You should get better gas mileage as well. If you drive on pavement a lot the MT's can get to you, but they do serve their purpose for off road of course. Also diggin' your fogs up front. I want to do the same, just not sure how it'll look with square headlights versus round. Four rounds up front l've always liked.

Ahh, I saw that on the Skagit County craigslist the other day... He's asking $12, 900 for it! A little over priced in my book... Yes it's clean, but he's got 3 inch suspension and a 5 inch body lift! That's WAY to much body lift (so much that it's illegal in WA). Also, a Chevy 350 + Toyota 5 Speed + 39.5x13 Iroks on stock axles is just asking for something to break. I'll admit I'd want one like it, but one built correctly. Looks awesome though!

Just gotta 79 project truck and love it. Threw some chrome bullet holes on it and a redneck paint job for now, but needs some carb work.

Ok guys, I know my Tundra isn't a 1st gen pickup, but I got a cool picture of it today. Some of you may know that there is a pretty crazy hurricane smacking the east coast where I live. The picture below was taken by a friend of mine in Ocean City, MD. I was towing my boat through the inlet parking lot which was flooding directly from the Atlantic Ocean kicking up 25'+ waves. Right behind my truck in the picture is the OC Inlet. Normally the water is about 6-7ft below the boulders that you can't see in the pictures. Pretty nutzo!

And just to prove that Toyota's can take any abuse you want to throw at them; I towed the 15,000lb 31' OceanPro Parasail boat shown below about 150 miles from NJ to Ocean City, MD. (FYI, the towing capacity of my Tundra is 8,500lbs) I've put each of the 126,000 miles on this truck and it has NEVER let me down. I will never own a non-Toyota truck!

That's exactly what I like best about Toyotas, they alwasy find a way to surprise me in how much more they can do out of the box than the other guys.

Towing capacity is not the absolute maximum your truck can tow, it's just the recommended max you can tow safely. I've towed a trailer full of cattle on interstate with a 3/4 Dodge Cummins that weighed in just shy of 30k pounds. (truck and trailer)

That boat trailer also has 3 axles and the majority of the weight is being put on the axles from what I can see.

jus' sayin'.

Ever seen what people in other countries use even little first gen trucks to tow? They definitely use them like full-size trucks. I've seen some crazy photos of what people tow with little Hilux trucks.

Anybody else notice that in five posts from this one, we'll have reached post #1983?
We should post a pic of a 1983 pickup on the 1983 post so we'll have an 83 on our 83.

We should post 83 pics of 83s on post 1983, so we'll have 83 posts of 83 pickups on our 83.
