Heres the pics of my new truck (80 Longbed) form the craigslist ad. I have no idea what suspension is on it. Its a 20R 4 speed with a weber 32/36, Hedman header, LSD in the rear, and 4.56 gears.

here's the best one i have of the rear bumper...pretty simple design but thats what i love about it. i ground down the end caps smooth, welded on some tabs underneath the bumper for the mud flaps and shot it with rustoleum black enamel. the bumper is welded directly to the frame rails and the rear valance is notched for the the frame rails to pass through. all in all it made a very low profile set up with a great departure angle.

Idayota: Nice work on the bumpers, simple, practical and functional. I would love to have that old Willy's Wagon in the background

my first gen (2wd) is an excellent daily driver. If i drive ti right I can average 24mpg. Of course with 4wd that might not be the case but IMO they are great.

They are great dds, I've got close to 300,000 miles on mine and used it for 20+ years as a dd. I built it as a prerunner type truck in '82 and haven't changed much (exept engines) since then. most of the time it had 32"BFGs (I did run 33s now it's got 35s) because they handled better and lasted longer than the larger tires. I've never broken a u-joint, and have never opened my transfer case (though I am thinking of a dual case now since it's only a toy now). My fuel milage was never that good, I pulled out the 22r when I got it and I think the v6 only gets around 12mpg weather I'm going 30 or 70.

I honestly don't think you will be happy with how those tires perform, plus a lift kit is a waste of money
JK--I wish I would have gotten a bigger tire...nice find on the truck, looking forward to seeing it with the swampers on it
