It needs rear break work and the front axle re-sealed as well. When I 1st got it (200$ with a bad motor) I swapped out the round headlights for the square ones. When a friend rolled my 1984 Celica I pulled the early tall block efi motor out of the Celica, bolted on the carb and installed it in this truck.

This one I named Yoshi. I have owned it for about 20 years. I rebuilt the motor 20 years ago, it was my daily driver for 5 years or so, put 100 000km's on it before I drove it on the frozen river to a remote property. It is now my bush buggy/poor mans skidder.

Yoshi way back when she was my daily driver, and a picture of her en route to her current home.

'Yellow' was my driver for 7 years, bought it from the original owner for 500$ (needed a transmission) This spring I hit a bump and the motor died. I haven't gotten around to looking at it. Probably a super simple fix.

Bought the 1980 three months ago. Needed a 2nd driver at our new peoperty and hand't owned a Toy since my '91 so couldn't pass on it...work in progress project for me yet runs beyond the typical cold weather 32/36 issues! Trailered truck is an '80 2wd I picked up for $50 from a neighbors property as a haul off and is getting parted.

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that I had to sell my baby. I ruptured a disc in my back and I am not able to work on my truck. Thanks to all that liked my truck.

It's a survivor - very original 1983 SR5.I'll try to preserve the patina and keep it looking as pretty as it is. Frame off restoration for everything else on the cards.

^That is an interesting truck. You say that it's very original but I quickly spot some customization.
The bed has 5 tie downs per side which is unusual but certainly handy. The drivers side mirror is not a Toyota install and the passenger side mirror was either shaved/filled or never had the holes punched in the door for it.
Antenna on driver side fender.
Very cool and would love to see more pictures!

Punjab,
It's a RHD Aussie truck so bed tie downs and antenna location are probably explained by that. I've heard that Canadian beds can be a bit different than US beds for the earlier years.

At least it's a cool "period correct" survivor.

What rims/tires and lift do you have on that truck. I love the look.

This is the family '80 SR5 long bed in Toyota red. Bought in I think September 1980 from Pomona Toyota in CA(when they were right off the 60 fwy). Not sure the miles, but quite a few since it was daily driven for 2 decades and then flat towed all over the states behind a motorhome. Spent the last 2 decades as an avocado orchard farm truck. Retired from active duty since 2014. It's mine now and will eventually get a frame off resto. It's a pretty solid truck having lived in CA all its life. Wrong seats and an aftermarket radio and a fire alarm post for a bumper are about the only non stock items my dad changed. Rust at the top right corner of the front glass and the bottom of the driver's side front fender. I have to finish a few VW bus restorations first. Until then I'm parts collecting NOS Toyota pickup anything I can find. Should have bought more when there was a bunch of stuff on Ebay out of Oregon. Does anyone know of any NOS parts suppliers currently?? Here are a bunch more pics https://photos.app.goo.gl/zcmzb8hZtZUKnoqq6

Sweet looking '80! Looks to be in really solid shape for all that use. So cool it is still in the family and will get the restoration it deserves

Truck sat 11 years. Drove very rarely with 75,4xx original miles. Carfax confirmed vin JT4RN44S9B0012842 seems to be an early production number of the line. My mother was gifted this pickup 5years ago and it’s been sitting in her driveway just putted around town a bit here and there. No issues. No solid information on it either. I’m bringing it into the light and to my home tomorrow. May get it restored being that the miles are incredibly low..wondering if I have something extra cool or..?

Headliner as tight as day 1, untouched

5-speed

Weatherstripping like new

No cracks or breaks

Carpet not even broke in

Weatherstripping and hardware untouched

Camper shell with portholes Toyota original?

Carpet kit. Toyota stock?

75,000 original miles. Carfax confirmed Truck sat 11 years. Given to me by my mom who had it sitting in her driveway 5 years from original owner

Weatherstripping is flawless

Headliner as tight as Day one. Untouched

Is this camper shell Toyota stock and would it have come with this truck off the line?

Toyota carpet kit option?

Truck is like new

Carpet hasn’t even faded or changed h when lifted

5-speed

No cracking or wear

Pulling it into the daylight tomorrow

Camper with potholes. More photos to come. Not sure if I scored something a bit cooler than I or my family really paid much attention to. Any information on decoding the vin would be much appreciated. JT4RN44S9B0012842
