thanks, Island_Yota! I'm going to work on the body now that it is nice, hopefully I can get it looking a little better

4banginRunner: Yeah, stock blue interior. There is a place to get the stripes so I'm really thinking of putting them back on after I paint it, but not sure I want to go white again..

anyone have any thoughts? hate to do OD as it is so overdone lately, unless I could do it in a relatively "unique" way

White looks awesome on first gens though, personal preference I guess but its definetly one of my favorites for a pre-84.

I might try and get some factory style stripes done for mine at a local decal shop, see if they can remake some originals for me if I give them a picture, that is... once I have my stock box finished, painted and on the truck. My truck is factory Dark blue with the Light Blue interior, wish the interior was complete.. im thinking silver factory style stripes though.

I don't want to start another thread just for this question....

can you guys tell me if these rear shackles are stock? the front ones have rounded off corners but the back is straight bar-stock with sharp corners. I'm wondering if maybe this truck has had the shackles replaced to even out the rear with the front?

vvv this pic is big but shows what I'm talking about

http://nnyoffroad.com/~dertow/images...g/DSCN4858.JPG

also I think you talked me into keeping the white

my old '83, picked it up from my niegbour who was the original owner for $500. it had been sitting for about 7 years without being touched. got it running and eventually painted it and put in a fresh motor.

just after i got it

duct tape rust repair

with new paint

being used

this is my 79 that i picked up for $300, with the head already taken to the machine shop by PO. $500 to get the head back, countless hours serching for lost parts. now that its all together, i got to take it apart to fix the timing chain adjuster. oh well it will be worth it when it done.

Here's my 80 TOY

This is my 1980 TOYOTA. We have bobed the bed, replaced the rear axle with a 87 4Runner axle, lifted it with a 6" lift and a 2" body lift replaced the 20r with a 1992 22re, wired it in to the truck (runs great! Down with Carbs!). 5.29 gears, lock rite lockers, 1995 5 speed, lots of welding by my brother on the bumpers. I do the wrenchin, he does the welding. And to top it all off,it runs on 37's and has a 95000 winch to hang it from a tree at cristmas. Name: 100_2183.jpg
