Headlight upgrade for an '81?

Was wondering if anyone has upgraded their round headlights. I have seen the threads for the squares, but no first gen. The sealed beams I have are okay but don't throw much light. Want to upgrade but don't wanna go broke doing it.

Any info on products used is appreciated.

I imagine they might make some cheapy H4 conversion housings, but you really can't beat the Hella E-Codes. I LOVE mine. But they're not cheap by any means.

Rallylights.com sells hell e-codes 7 inch round for 38.46 each for just the housings. Or you can get the whole kit. For just over 100 bucks with bulbs. Plug-n-play and a huge upgrade. I have em on my 81.

Thanks a lot! Elton, have you used those? Even if they aren't as nice as hella's, that price is hard to beat!

i have the Hella E-code in my '81...currently running HID's in them...bad idea..converting back to regular Halogen H4's--55 W low beam with 100w high beam.
be sure to inspect your wiring. an upgraded Harness from 4Crawler is a great addtion
