Got Another Great Deal

Sup guys!? l couldn't help but brag about this but l bought another Toyota 4x4.

The Sucker's an 81 Hilux 4x4 shortbed. l bought it with 63k original miles for $300. The owner wanted it gone off his property so l towed it away. lt runs awesome. l'm gonna make this my crawler instead of my 83 cause l need a daily driver for work. lt's not too pretty but that'll all change soon.

So my truck only has 15547.X on it, or is 115547.x or 215547.

Hard to say if it really only has 63k when the clock turns over at 99999.9.

Ha ha good point, but the owner said it hasn't turned over and all the parts show very little wear. lt drives like it's almost new. lt's been sitting around since 04.

Wow, great find! Love those deals, best kind! hahaha.

Can't wait to see it finished(and of course the process)

You bobbing it or anything? For some reason that popped in my head when I saw how short the frame was w/out the bed, lol.

Best wishes with it, have fun

you got a great deal...but why did it sit for 7 years? seems like the low mileage was a selling point to get rid of it

That's because the Mexican's come across the border and pay top dollar for em!!!!. I cannot count how many Yota's I had seen in Corpus/Kingsville getting tow barred across the border.

Niiice. I need to get to know someone like you with a big truck and trailer. I just had to turn down a nice 81 with a blown headgasket for $450, in otherwise good shape as far as I could tell, cause there's just no way to get it to my house without paying for towing, which, when it's almost 100 miles away, just isn't worth it...

I wound up with AAA Premium for that very reason and one other, .....my machinist was a knob on the last motor! lol... Anyway, it's been helpful as they tow up to 300 Miles free. "PLUS" members, ... I think it's 100 miles. Can't remember, but it makes me feel better on all my long trips! lol.

Sorry you missed out on a deal, 83!

I did consider that, but wasn't sure if it would work or not. Looks like I should sign up. Thanks!

Because I buy them all, Craigslist and the Rausch forums are your friend

To the OP, nice find! I've paid more for barely recognizable 1st gens, let alone running!

Thanks man. He said that he bought it from a friend so that he could haul dirt and gravel while he was building his house. Once he was done he parked it.
