gear ratio on my 82

im thinking of running 4.10's in the rear and 4.11's in the front, but i dont know if that will work or be bad. i tried searching it but couldnt find anything. does anyone think this will work? or should i do 4.11's front and rear? any help appreciated, thank you.

Your '82 should already be set up with 4.10s...pretty sure thats stock.

That's not enough of a difference to hurt anything.

Guys with SAS Tacomas frequently run 5.29's in the rear and 5.38's up front without any ill effects.

Exactly what scuba said. Thats too close to even matter. People do it so often and most dont even know it.

a faster turning front would give you tighter turning radius....atleast thats how it works with rc trucks/cars.

yep should be find...especially since you would only be using 4wd on slick surfaces...

Oh...so now it's your thread. And we're supposed to care why exactly? And that's relevant because...?

That was one of the MOST, if not THE MOST, nonsensical newbie first posts I've ever witnessed. Congratulations on that I guess...

You mad? I take it you installed 4:10 ratio in your's to later find out that's stock?

It's ring/pin 101 when you have a gutless motor (22r) you wanna have a lower gear ratio
(numerically higher number)it will give you more torque/rpm, at the least i would suggest
running something in the high 4 ratio's, but i guess what it comes down to is what you plan on doing with it. Do you plan on putting bigger tires, making it a crawler, wheeler are a commuter rig? Don't listen to me though i don't have 4000 posts.
