Fuel pump problem. 86 22r in a 79

Bought my 79 Pickup with a 20R. There was no fuel pump on the head of the 20R, so I don't know if the previous owner but an electric one on or if its factory.

So, my 22R came with a mechanical one in the head. Is this the correct way to mount it, with the spacer? Or should I take the black spacer out?

And now, I can't figure out what lines go where. I know the red line below goes to the carb, but what about the blue and green? which one comes from the tank?

And these two fuel lines below the intake manifold come off the blue and green lines from the pump and picture above.

But, it makes be feel okay to put this in here.

It runs!

Absolutely use the spacer.

As far as which hose goes where...I don't remember without my truck in front of me...

I believe the blue one is the line to the carb. Usually "Out" is stamped near it.
second-highest should be return, and the lowest should be the inlet.

The line farthest to the left is inlet and the middle is outlet.

The red line is the inlet line coming from the tank and blue is outlet line going to the tank.

Warming up. Its only run for 3-5 seconds four or five times this week by dumping gas in the carb. Prior to this video, i started it and let it run for about 5 seconds or so then buttoned up the back-to-tank line and then made this video.

Not to jump your thread but I have a brand new Weber 32/36 carb and the LCD spiral adapter for the 22R if your interested. I purchased the carb back in march. I installed it on my truck drove it maybe 10 times then parked it as I started driving my 93 22RE. I'm swapping a 4.3 to my 87 so I know longer need this stuff.

If your interested shoot me a PM or check out the classifieds. I have a listing over there

Wait... so you're a motorcycle that's just purchased a human?

Joking aside, tell us more about this Supra swap, I'm crossing my fingers in hope that you're about to say 2JZ...

Yes. The market for humans is slim now, so I bought a used model, that's a little slower than the rest of the fleet. Nah, its my second bike. 2001 Yamaha YZF600R.

The Supra is my third. First one caught fire and the second one was for parts. I bought for $1,000 years ago and rebuilt everything. 160k on chassis, 35k on engine.

Supras are in my blood, and skin

I've gotten a new dash board for the swap. Set the ODO to 000,000.0.

I plan on running the bigger turbo on the right.

Custom 8-quart oil pan

And here is what you are curious about. It isn't a 2Jz. I'm not made of money, after all. I'm replacing the 2.8L NA 5M-GE with a 3.0L Turbo 7m-gte from a 1989 Supra.

Sweet! I love that model Supra, it's perfect for a sleeper rig: nobody notices a boxy liftback until it's passing them. The M series engines are still really great engines, and probably have more aftermarket support than the Js; so it's just as good a choice, if not more grounded in the real world. Plus, they're all inline 6 engines, which is the best practical engine configuration out there. Toyota and BMW have both made some really fantastic I6s over the years.

With everybody jumping back onto the sports car bandwagon, I keep hoping a new Celica or Supra will be released. GM has their goofy new Camaro and Corvette, and Chrysler has their hideous Challenger and the new Viper (which looks like a clown shoe). The world needs a Celica or Supra for the 21st century, something much more down to earth than the LFA, but a lot gutsier than the FR-S.

Their is always the Nissan GTR more affordable than the LFA and quicker than the FR-S, but GTR still pretty expensive. I agree with you Toyota needs to bring back the Supra, imho Honda,Nissan, and Mazda are kicking their butts in affordable sports car because they don't even have a line of sports car. All they make now are boring 4 banger eco cars, but their trucks and suv are still great.

Info on the FUGLY Hybrid 'sportscar'
FT-HS
Hybrid powertrain meets sports-car fundamentals

The FT-HS pairs a potent hybrid powertrain with essential sports-car fundamentals. This Toyota concept is a mid-priced sports car that integrates ecology and emotion in a concept that addresses the question, "What is a suitable sports car for the 21st century?"

Boasting a powerful 3.5L V6 engine, the FT-HS is coupled with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy DriveŽ to produce a target power output of approximately 400 horsepower and a projected 0-to-60 acceleration in the 4-second range. At a mid-priced market position, the FT-HS would be a true "attainable exotic" with 21st-century performance.

A sculpted front and rear remove mass around key functional components, while the roof has a distinctive scooped-out section designed to reduce aerodynamic drag and provide head room at the key areas.

The FT-HS's interior features create a dedicated driver's cockpit that includes a cross-car instrument panel structure and delta-wing driver pod. An integrated instrument panel surrounds the driver, creating an enclosed pod effect. Armrests flow seamlessly into the door and surrounding interior. Seating is optimized for a lightweight appearance and function: The seating accommodates four and then converts to a 2-seater when the roof retracts.

If they're going to try doing a hybrid sports car, then they should just shoot for a version of the Porsche 918 for the everyday market. There is a ton of potential for hybrid sports cars, those motors produce insane torque very easily, and assisting a decent gasser motor would make for a very potent racing car. If they get the proportions right.
