four way flasher?

I turned on my four way flashers while my motor was running and the factory tach started jumping around in time with my flashers any ideas? 1981 toy 4x4.

maybe somebody wired in an aftermarket rev limiter to that switch, and wired it wrong so it kicks in at idle (joking, of course)

Check dash grounds, weird things can happen when they go out.

he's talking about his hazards ... My dog even figured that out.

that's a weird link between the tach and the hazards. I wish I had some kind of suggesion for you but I'd have to agree with the previous that some wiring behind the dash is probably touching. My first thought would be the connections to the flashing arrows in your dash are somehow shorting possibly? Which is grounding to the tach in the dash?

I doubt its linked to any of the bulbls or wiring in the steering column... Since the tach is just one wire straight to the coil.

I'm willing to bet that someone has been tinkering with the wiring and tied on of the wires into the hazards from your tach, instead of to the proper place/wire.

Mine does an odd thing like that as well. I turn on a blinker and my volt gage jumped with every blink. Its been doing that for ever.
