"death wobble" on a 83

stock 83 4x4. goes into death wobble on deceleration . what should i look for??

loose steering components, wheel bearing play, ball joint play.

while braking? if its while braking it could be warped rotors, toyota rotors warp pretty damn easy.

and what xxxtreme22r said too could be it..

i figured that, but left it up to the O.P. to figure that one out , wasn't 100% if the SA trucks had them. never had or drove a truck with SA, so.

yeah no ball joints. lol. everything is tight . no movement of the rod ends or the steering rod ends. definitly gonna check the bushings on the springs. and the rotors. it only happens when i start to decelerate not brake. if i down shift it stops shaking.

springs have a slight negative arch. plan on checking the bushings 2marow. kinda just had my gall bladder removed. organ failure sucks

no need to check the bushings. jacked the front end up again. hit the passenger side tire hard sideways, and thud. apparently the previous owner thought that just a cotter pin would hold the t.r.e. in place . that's right . no castle nut . just a bent pin. it bears repeating. no castle nut . just a bent pin. lucky for me i have a wonderful gf who wrenches on her 4x4's and she is coming to change it 2marow. just picked up a t.r.e. for 12.99 plus tax from auto zone. if i wasn't down from surgery it would get changed tonight
