I've done a resistance check on the choke coil , its all within specs... I then did a power test to see if it was receiving voltage, there is no voltage reading from the terminal.. I've checked all fuses in the dash, tested voltage with the engine running , and with only the ignition switch on.. Has anyone else had any similiar problems ? Could it be a fusible link somewhere ?

I think the choke gets its power from the coil.

 

mine did the same thing. i bought a manual choke kit for $12. worth every penny.

 

Sorry to hi-jack, but where did you get this kit? I've been looking for one for mine for a while, ever since the spring went sproing and I had to jury rig a pen spring.

 

got mine at oreilly i think, autozone, carquest, napa; they all have them. its pretty simple set up, just get the line of pull with the least amt of bends and youll be ok.

 

I finally found the problem , it was the charge light relay, replaced it, sensor & charger light is off and choke now opens.
