OliveYoter, how did removing the charcoal canisters work for you?? I'm curious to know if I would have any adverse affects from removing mine. Suggestions, experiences, anybody??

@kawazx636... i removed all my egr and everything else vacuum related except my fuel cannister and the distributor advance of course, it was filled with fuel so i unhooked all the hoses and let it drain for a while til it was dry, then when i put it back in all i did was hook the line from the fuel tank up to it so that i had clean dry ventilation for my gas tank, without all the vacuum mess. so i have no lines on the top of my cannister just the one on the bottom. my egr was plugged slam full with soot and black gummy junk (no other way to describe it lol). the only difference i have noticed is its a little smokier than it used to be, but the truck runs fine, has alot more power i think. ill post some pics of what mine looks like in my albums, i need to update my pix anyway. any other questions just hit me up

A while ago, I was effin around under the hood of my 3.slow and broke one if the little plastic necks that the house goes over. Instead of buying a new one our just letting it hang, I removed it, put it together with a sleeve and I really can't tell a difference.

So today I completely removed the charcoal canisters and my truck is still running nice and smooth. I just put on a vented fuel cap to adjust for pressure changes in the tank. I'm not quite sure if the canisters were even working at all anyway. The front one wasn't even connected and the rear one on the firewall seemed like there hadn't been fuel in it for a while now. While I was at it, I slapped on a couple fuel filters. My old filters were so clogged that my fuel pressure regulator gauge was only reading 1.5 PSI when it should have been pushing 3.5 PSI causing it to sputter after running for a while on a steady load.

So for all of you people out there that would like to do some "cleaning" under the hood, as of right now, the charcoal canisters can be nixed! I'll keep you posted if I have any problems.
