Brake issue

Hello,
I took home my 79 yesterday, and after about 5 miles, the brakes slowly began to drag, until they completely stopped the truck. I waited a few minutes, started it again and away it went, until about 5 miles later.
Does anyone know what may be causing this?
Thanks,
Dan

It may be that the emergency brake cable is seized.(rear only) Do all of the brakes lock up ? nAlso check any rubber lines for swelling/bulging, at or around the metal line fittings.

Hard to say if its all four or just the back, it takes a minute or two from first noticing to full stop. I'll check for that.
i'll also look for the swelling.

This happened on my 81, I ended up replacing the master cylinder because there was some crap in it causing it to stick. It needed to be replaced anyway.

If it is your master cylinder consider upgrading to a 1" bore master cylinder like wab fab, Trail-gear or Marlin sell. About $125 but a good upgrade especially if you are planning on running some bigger tires later on..
