I have a 1983 Toyota pickup 2wd. I'm having a problem with oil entering into my air filter. I replaced the PVC valve but still happening. What's next on the list to resolve my problem ? Thank a bunch !

 

Pull the valve cover and make sure someone didn't remove the plate inside. The pcv "port" should not be visable on the inside of the valve cover withouut removing the plate.

 

Yea for sure should have the plate. I just took mine apart to powder coat it. Had to order the better gasket kit so I could have the inner plate gasket. Also I figure replace the valve while I'm.in there

 

Well when I first purchased the truck I did not have this problem. Could this plate have came off on its own ?

If its not that then your blow by could be cause by the piston rings which requires rebuilding to fix.

 

I've seen rebuild kits with pistons rings and all of that. Is that worth the money ?

 

I would check my compression before I jump to any conclusions. Try to KNOW what the problem is before throwing parts at it. Sometimes you have to go with "most likely", but you should do some diagnostics to figure out what's wrong.

 

That is what I am trying to do. The oil in the air filter is just annoying and not good for the truck. I want to fix this ASAP bc I am spilling oil everywhere I go.
