big brake upgrade Q's

I have done some research about putting IFS calipers/FJ60 rotors on my 81 truck. The only question I have is about the wheel rubbing the caliper. I have stock wheels on my truck now and want to keep them, and have read about needing a 1in. wheel spacer to clear the caliper, but some sites say that i MAY need one, not that it is mandatory. To the people that have done the upgrade, can I run my stock wheels if I do some grinding on the caliper? what exactly is the issue, just the caliper rubbing the inside of the wheel because the caliper is wider?

Thanks

Caliper might not clear the wheel depending on backspacing. If its just slight then you can grind the caliper down 1/16 to 1/8 and its fine. If not, you need wheel spacers. Just really depends on your wheels.

thanks...that's what i am trying to figure out....just wondering if anyone had run stock wheels with the bigger calipers. i'm running the chrome wheels like the ones that came stock on FJ62s. i believe these wheels also came stock on the SFA trucks.
