911 Electrical Help
Hi guys, trying to get this one sorted before work tomorrow and am not entirely sure where to go from here. Any and help at all is appreciated, I know a little about wiring but am no master. Truck has been running great for a while with no issues. I came home from work today, then turned it off, went to turn it on maybe a half an hour/hour later and had no electrical. No dome light, no buzzing lights, nada.
I've cleaned the terminals, and checked each power cable. Starter is on it's own circuit and works fine and sounds strong. I hooked up a jump to it for a good half an hour too and that didn't change anything. Battery reads at like 12.6 or so, so I don't think it's that.
I have no burned fuses and no power to any of the wires on the fuse box. I also took off the steering shroud and I have no power to any wires on the ignition switch.
Does it seem likely that I have a short somewhere in between the battery and the ignition switch? Anyways, I'm looking over these wiring diagrams that 83 yota posted a while and just trying to figure it out. Too dark now, but I'm going to wake up early and then I guess open up the dash and hopefully find something obvious. Anything else I should check?
Also can I just power my coil and fuel pump to get to work as a temp fix or run to the ignition switch if I can't figure this out?

look real close at your fusible link
If the starter cranks you have power to your ignition switch unless you have completely rewired the starter circuit.
just how are you trying to test for voltage??
it might be possible to power up just what you need but most likely will take longer then fixing the problem

Thanks for the reply wyoming. Starter is completely re-wired on it's own circuit.
I am using a test-light.
Fusible link? Are you talking about in the fuse box because there is no power coming to that at all. Or is there a separate fusible link elsewhere? Kind of looks like it on the wiring diagram but I haven't seen it.

Found it. There is no fusible link, but where PO put one big electrical clamp to the next four wires it didn't flow. Needed some daylight. Glad I posted though or else I probably never would have noticed a fusible link missing there.

Glad you found it
Much quicker then trying to rewire.
Do your self a favor get a Multimeter I don`t think I even have any test lights left.
Then make up different test leads as you need them.
