83-84 EFI build questions

Hi, we are working on a truck that was recently purchased in pieces. Lots of pieces. We were told it was a 91 but upon determination, only the body was from a 91, frame from a 93, ECU from a 3VZE, and engine components are older. We found 3 different titles, one from a 93, one from a 91, and one from an 86. Things were thrown in a pile from at least 4 vehicles so trying to determine the correct path to take.

The block/head had $900 worth of work into it before it arrived here. It has .030 over pistons, head was surfaced, etc. We have measured deck height (11.280"), valve diameters(44.5mm intake 35.6mm exhaust), verified the round exhaust port on the head, etc and determined that both the block and head are in the range of 81-84. It appears that both block and heads from 81-82 22R and the 83-84 22R-E with EFI are all the same from what I can see. Based on that information, we plan to proceed to build as an 83-84 engine with EFI.

These are the next things we need to determine. From what I can see, the easiest option is the EFI system from the 83-84 which will bolt right up and did not have the knock sensor. I expect there must be physical differences in the intake/EFI from the 83-84 and the 85+ though. Can anyone tell me how to determine which intake/EFI we actually have?

There is an intake manifold and EFI here, as well as a wiring harness with 3 plugs of 10, 18, and 14 pins to the ECU. The wiring harness appears to match the 22RE ECU diagram from an 88, but not sure if all years 85-95 were the same or not. That wiring harness may or may not have gone with the EFI system that we have. Once I know if there are physical differences between the EFI/intake, then we can figure out what to do next.

Also, it appears that both the 81-82 double chain and 83-84 single timing chain can fit on this engine. The timing cover does have the appropriate clearance for the dual chain. Is there any reason we should not use the dual chain even if this will be EFI in the end?

Thanks for any help.
