83 22r low compression
my buddy was driving this truck down the freeway he noticed it was overheating it didnt quite get to the red though. anyways when he was pulling off the road the truck died on him. We just did a compression test today heres the numbers #1-60 #2-40 #3-20 #4-30 so that doesnt really look all that great and generally when you have a blown head gasket you lose compression in 1 or 2 cylinders not all 4 anyway let me know what you guys think. We also have done a head gasket before on this truck but we didn t use a toyota head gasket was kinda wondering how big of deal that might be.

It is possible that it got hot enough to warp the head, in which case the head gasket could be fine and the head needs to be replaced. Either way you are going to have to pull the head, let just hope it is a gasket and not the head......

Just a quick note for you. There are two cylinder heads on the Bend, Oregon Craiglist for sale. One is for $50.00 with out valves and the other is $100 with valves. Can't tell if they have been warped, but it's got to be cheaper than ordering one from the Stealership(dealership). Hope this helps.

If you've done a head gasket and it went again, then either something got messed up when you did it, or you need the head and or deck blocked. I wouldn't do a head gasket without taking the head at least to a machine shop to be flattened out, and do the measurements the FSM shows to see if the block is comepletely flat.
